L’approccio alla diversity & inclusion, o D&I, è basato sui principi fondamentali di non discriminazione, pari opportunità e inclusione di tutte le forme di diversità. Quest’anno l’impegno di Eni sul tema è stato rafforzato con la creazione della nuova unità D&I, scopriamola insieme con Marwa El Hakim.

Decarbonization is for the planet health, the ultimate goal. In this episode, we are going to reveal some solutions, with the purpose of reducing the impact that metropolises and construction have on the environment. Every idea can be of help and this is why Eni is committing to many frontlines: the laboratories in Eni’s Research Centre of Novara are focusing on the multiple opportunities offered by the Sun. While in Gela and Porto Marghera, the new bio-refineries are converting the raw materials of biological origins in bio-fuels. Francesca Zarri, Eni’s Director of Technology, R&D & Digital, will be useful to better know this new reality.

The cultural revolution we are witnessing is showing itself in many forms and ideas, yet, always stemming from the need to reduce waste to the least. We’re all involved in a change of course on which the future of the planet depends. This is why every company, but also every single citizen, should have sustainability as their primary goal.

Food should never be wasted. Our grandmothers knew this well, whose sumptuous lunches were transformed the following day into more than decent leftovers. This habit is more relevant than ever because scientists have discovered a very close link between global warming and waste. Today we can confirm that something good can come out of waste.

Decarbonization, a word that is more and more frequently used when talking about environmental issues. It is in fact a process aimed at reducing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, a gas essential for the development of life on Earth but which is harmful when its level of concentration in the air exceeds. In the energy sector, it’s central to achieve the SDGs set by the UN and to which Eni has long adhered, accelerating the energy transition with a transformation plan that focuses on reducing emissions.

Decarbonizzazione, una parola che ricorre sempre più spesso quando si parla di tematiche ambientali. Si tratta infatti di un processo volto a ridurre la quantità di CO2 nell’atmosfera, un gas essenziale per lo sviluppo della vita sulla Terra ma che risulta dannoso quando eccede il suo livello di concentrazione nell’aria. Nel settore energetico si rivela determinante per il raggiungimento degli SDGs fissati dall’ONU e a cui Eni ha da tempo aderito, accelerando la transizione energetica con un piano di trasformazione che mette al centro la riduzione delle emissioni.

Eni ha intrapreso un percorso verso una transizione energetica che porterà a un futuro low carbon necessario a contrastare il cambiamento climatico. Le soluzioni che l’azienda intende adottare sono frutto di tecnologie innovative e in linea con gli obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibile fissati dall’ONU (SDGs). Tra questi, la lotta contro la povertà e l’ineguaglianza per garantire l’accesso a un’energia affidabile e sostenibile a tutti. Ma tante sono le leve strategiche che vanno ad integrarsi alle linee guida di una grande sfida, che ha come comune denominatore l’energia!

Eni has embarked on a path towards an energy transition that will lead to a low-carbon future necessary to combat climate change. The solutions that the company intends to adopt are the result of innovative technologies and in line with the objectives set by the UN (SDGs). These include the fight against poverty and inequality to ensure access to reliable and sustainable energy for all. But many are the strategic levers that integrate the guidelines of a great challenge, which has energy as its common denominator!

We are in 2050, the energy transition strongly advocated by Eni is complete, the scenario is the one envisaged in the 2020 Strategy. Today Eni is leader in the production of clean energy, coming from renewable energy sources and/or a low carbon impact. The circular economy is applied in all industrial processes, service stations have given way to sales points of sustainable products of the latest generation, distributed all over the world.

Siamo nel 2050, la transizione energetica fortemente voluta da Eni è compiuta, lo scenario è quello anticipato nella visione della Strategy 2020. Oggi Eni è leader nella produzione di energia pulita, proveniente da fonti di energia rinnovabile e/o a basso impatto carbonico. L’economia circolare è applicata in tutti i processi industriali, le stazioni di servizio hanno lasciato il posto a punti vendita di prodotti sostenibili di ultima generazione, distribuiti worldwide…

The disposal and recycling of plastic waste is a highly contemporary issue thanks to increasing public sensitivity and awareness. But while good habits with responsible use and proper recycling by individuals can help, there is a need for a broader commitment. This awareness has led to the Circular Plastic Alliance (CPA), a voluntary agreement signed within the European Union in 2019, which aims to increase the amount of recycled plastic. Versalis, Eni's chemical company, has also joined the initiative, developing various projects in order to contribute to the European plan that aims to transform 10 million tonnes of recycled plastic into new products by 2025.

Lo smaltimento e il riciclo dei rifiuti in plastica è un tema di grande attualità grazie a una sempre maggior sensibilità e consapevolezza da parte dell’opinione pubblica. Ma se da una parte le buone abitudini con un uso responsabile e un corretto riciclo da parte dei singoli possono aiutare, dall’altra c’è bisogno di un impegno a livello più ampio. Questa presa di coscienza ha portato al Circular Plastic Alliance (CPA), un accordo su base volontaria siglato all’interno dell’Unione Europea nel 2019, che ha come traguardo quello di aumentare la quantità di plastica riciclata. Anche Versalis, società chimica di Eni, ha aderito all’iniziativa, sviluppando vari progetti al fine di contribuire al piano europeo che mira entro il 2025 a trasformare 10 milioni di tonnellate di plastica riciclata in nuovi prodotti.

Water is a precious resource that should not be wasted. Therefore, is necessary to make an effective and sustainable use of it. In line with this objective, Eni and CNR researchers in Metaponto, will be working together in what is bound to become a reference research center on circular economy throughout the Mediterranean. A strong commitment will be dedicated to the promotion of innovative solutions and technologies to mitigate drought. Saving water resources, conservation of coastal and reuse of urban ones will be first priorities. Acquiring the awareness that seeing pure water flowing out of our taps is not granted at all!
