As we look throughout the bible and wonder who has the best attitude, the most joy given the circumstances, our obvious answer would be Jesus! But when we really look at it, Paul comes very very close, he has the true Joy of the Lord! Happiness is fleeting because it’s circumstantial, joy is a fruit of the spirit so it can be accessed at all times! Jesus says to rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS, he actually says it twice, that’s how important it is! Not when we feel like it, not when life is perfect, and everything is lining up in our favor! Through the highs and lows, the hills and valleys of life, there’s one thing that forever reigns true, and that is that God is good! If you want to live “The Good Life” that’s the key, to rejoice in Him always!

In this weeks message from Pastor Jeremy Johnson, “Patriots in the New World” we dive deeper into what it means to fast. Our relationship with God is like a marriage, we have to constantly rekindle our flame with God and seek a deeper relationship with Him, and a fast is an amazing way to set aside the time to do just that! The Lord wants to prune us of the parts of ourselves that don’t bear fruit (fruits of the spirit). He will even prune us of the parts that do bear fruit, because he wants to give us MORE! Hindsight is 20/20, we often look at things from our past and we can now see why God allowed us to go through things, it’s because there is more ahead of us! Allow God to be the gardener of your life this year. Invite Him in to prune the good and the bad, so that He can bless you abundantly more! It’s in those moments of pruning that we grow closer to Him, only if we lean on Him.

Happy Sunday Fearless church!   This week, with the upcoming election, Pastor Jeremy addresses politics in the church. We are reminded that a donkey or an elephant did not suffer on the cross for us— only Jesus. He is the lion in the room, and more than anything, a divided world needs a United church.   Passionately pursue Jesus, above all else. The body of Christ is diverse because it gives us strength and shows glory to God. Believers have unity in Christ.   In John 13:34-35 Jesus gives us a new commandment. To love one another, as He loved us. By following this commandment, the world will know we are his disciples.

As believers, it is important that we are able to distinguish between the problems in our life and the Goliaths in our life when we are in the valley of battle. The Goliath is the giant that appears day after day, taunting us. But fear not! Just like with David, God will come along side of us to take out the giants in our life.
