This past weekend, guest speaker Dr. Scott Hagan unpacked a powerful line from Psalm 42 that compares our souls to a deer desperately searching for water. What sounds poetic at first is actually a picture of drought — a deep, internal thirst that nothing around us can satisfy. Through David’s words, we were reminded that life with God isn’t just about passion or energy. It’s about a deeper longing for His presence, the one thing our souls truly need, no matter what else we have.
