Oh my gosh—when I make a million dollars, I'm going to be, I'm going to feel secure; I'm going to feel like I've finally made it, you know? No, No- when I find that perfect person…then I'll really feel happy, you know? No, but when I lose that 5 pounds, you know that 5 pounds you just can't get rid of? I'll love my body then…I'll totally love my body then. GUYS! We base our happiness on this future someday that doesn't exist. It's like our happiness is on layaway….what's that about? Meanwhile, we're standing in a present moment that, 5 years ago, we said would make us happy; but yet we're looking ahead and saying THAT will make us happy. So will we ever truly be satisfied? Think about it, as kids we can't wait to be teenagers, as teenagers: "Oh my gosh…I can't WAIT to be an adult!" As an adult: "I can't wait for the perfect job, the perfect spouse, the perfect paycheck, the perfect house." And THEN I get all of that and I'm like: "uhhhhh I just can't wait to get rid of this job and retire, and THEN I'll final
