Defending Your Movie: Lockout
17/08/2020 Durata: 01h12minToday's episode is one that I am really proud of. Long ago a movie website called Screened used to do a feature called Defending Your Movie. I used to love the feature and when the website ended I missed it a lot. So I decided to revive the idea on my podcast. I even reached out and got the original creators' permission. So this is our first attempt at doing just that. My good friend Adam Condra came on to talk about a movie that we both have a fondness for, 2012'2 Lockout starring Guy Pearce. We have merch now! Dwight Little is most known for directing the sequel Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, but he's had a fascinating career. We talk about his early days of getting into film all the way up to the reason I wanted to talk to him in the first place, directing the Tekken movie. We also discuss his time working with Brandon Lee and Steven Seagal. We are now on Patreon! Mortal Kombat (Reboot)
03/08/2020 Durata: 55minWell the show is officially back! After a long hiatus the first new episode is looking at a script I've been wanting to read for a long time now. Based on my all time favorite video game series, today we are looking at the script for the reboot of the Mortal Kombat film. There's a lot of new stuff to talk about at the beginning of the show and the future but I hope you enjoy the first episode back! Written By: Greg Russo Logline: In a battle to save their realm, warriors from Earthrealm must do battle against invaders from Outworld. We are now on Patreon! Star Wars Episode IX Duel of the Fates Part 2
27/02/2020 Durata: 01h32sSo I wasn't sure if I wanted to cover this or not as I've had a personal rule for the podcast from the beginning. I generally strayed away from scripts that I couldn't be 100% sure were authentic but in the end its impossible to be 100% sure if ANY of the scripts covered are authentic so I figured that this was at least worth covering. On the last episode I sat down with a guest and we discussed the leaked bullet points from the alleged Star Wars script. Well that was going to be that but the next day when I was editing the episode I saw that the full script had leaked out. Well I didn't want to drag Nick back to re-record so I decided to go through the script and dive into the details in this more thorough look at the Duel of Fates script. The Star Wars sequel trilogy has been a divisive series to say the least but most people seem to agree that The Rise of Skywalker felt more like fan service than a Last Jedi sequel. The question now is would the Trevorrow version have made any difference? Written By: Colin

Star Wars Episode IX Duel of the Fates Part 1
03/02/2020 Durata: 58minSo I wasn't sure if I wanted to cover this or not as I've had a personal rule for the podcast from the beginning. I generally strayed away from scripts that I couldn't be 100% sure were authentic but in the end its impossible to be 100% sure if ANY of the scripts covered are authentic so I figured that this was at least worth covering. So allegedly a Reddit use got their hands on an early Episode IX script written by Colin Trevorrow before he was no longer attached to the project. Now apparently it has been independently verified which is what makes covering this feel okay to me. There was also some concept art out there that Trevorrow confirmed were from his version. The Star Wars sequel trilogy has been a divisive series to say the least but most people seem to agree that The Rise of Skywalker felt more like fan service than a Last Jedi sequel. Interview with David Hayter
11/12/2019 Durata: 01h01sWell this is maybe the most excited I've ever been for an episode to drop. Today's guest is David Hayter. Video game fans will know him as the voice actor of Solid Snake from the Metal Gear franchise., Fans of screenwriting and comic book movies may know him as the writer of major comic book films such as X-Men, X-2, and Watchmen, the latter of which brings us together today. We discuss David's contributions to the comic book movie genre as a whole while we follow his path from writing the first draft of Watchmen and the journey it took to the big screen while clearing up some rumors along the way. He also doesn't shy away from throwing a little shade. David can be found on . David has a show on Netflix in 2020 called Warrior Nun. We are now on Patreon! REPOST - Episode 4: Dragon Ball Z
06/12/2019 Durata: 01h14minWell I've been in a work coma since Thanksgiving that isn't ending anytime before Christmas. There's one new episode coming for the rest of the year which will be an interview with a very special guest (Next week and you're not going to want to miss this!) This will also be the last repost of the year but I thought I would squeeze one more in while I'm working over 60 hours for the next couple weeks. ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION In 2009 Dragon Ball Evolution was barfed into cinemas to a much maligned response. It threw away everything that everyone knew and loved about the show and instead presented the most bare bones and boring interpretation of the classic anime/manga. Well little did we know the script to the movie was actually much close to the source material so I brought in my buddy and fellow Dragon Ball fanatic Nick Almendarez, professional wrestler and founder of Freelance Wrestling in Chicago, do discuss the Dragon Ball movie that could have been. As always you can follow us on social media. Twitter: @shel

REPOST - Episode 3: The Star Wars
18/11/2019 Durata: 01h13minWell we are getting ever closer to Star Wars Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker which is a perfect time to revisit the third episode of the podcast when we looked at George Lucas's original rough draft simply called The Star Wars. ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION This week Jeremy says the correct email address for the first time as he gathers with his fellow Star Wars geek Maggie to discuss George Lucas’s original rough draft for The Star Wars. This is quite an interesting read that is a must for any Star Wars fan that may have heard the stories but doesn’t know the details. Jeremy and Maggie dive deep into the mind of George Lucas and try to figure out how George Lucas went from this draft, to the Star Wars trilogy we all know and love today. We are now on Patreon! Joker
07/11/2019 Durata: 55minToday's episode is going to be a little different. An early draft of the Joker script leaked out but honestly there aren't a ton of differences between the script and the final film. There are enough to merit discussion but not enough to fill a whole episode so instead this episode is going to be split in two. The first part will discuss the differences between the script and film and the second half will be a review of the final film. Written By: Todd Phillips and Scott Silver Logline: In Gotham City, mentally-troubled comedian Arthur Fleck is disregarded and mistreated by society. He then embarks on a downward spiral of revolution and bloody crime. This path brings him face-to-face with his alter-ego: "The Joker". We are now on Patreon! REPOST - Episode 2: Resident Evil
07/11/2019 Durata: 01h05minSo while browsing the podcast feed on Apple Podcasts I noticed that a lot of older episodes are cycling out of the feed. I've decided to start re-posting older episodes on off weeks with no new episode so if you want to go back and listen to them you have the option. I already re-posted the first episode a while back so I'm jumping into the second one which works out because it keeps in the Resident Evil theme. Our second episode looked at the George Romero Resident Evil script. Enjoy. ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION Well we made it to a second episode! It's officially a podcast. This episode is timed with the release of the new Resident Evil movie in theaters. Resident Evil The Final Chapter. A film series that has spanned 14 years and made hundreds of millions of dollars worldwide, but has always been met with tepid response. Before the series launched, George Romero, the zombie king, turned in a draft to Capcom in 1998 that they then shot down. I sat down with my horror obsessed friend Vinny Malave to discuss this re

Resident Evil Afterlife
31/10/2019 Durata: 01h01minHappy Halloween everyone! Today is a special bonus episode and our third Resident Evil script of the month. I have a complicated relationship with this series of films and this one is maybe my most conflicted of the bunch, and therefore was the one I was most excited to cover. I hope you enjoy this mid week bonus episode as I discuss Resident Evil Afterlife. Written By: Paul W. S. Anderson Logline: While still out to destroy the evil Umbrella Corporation, Alice joins a group of survivors living in a prison surrounded by the infected who also want to relocate to the mysterious but supposedly unharmed safe haven known only as Arcadia. 28/10/2019 Durata: 53minLast week we took a look at the first draft for Resident Evil, the 2002 video game adaptation. This week I continue with the spooky season with a follow up of the second sequel script, Resident Evil Extinction. The script was originally titled Afterlife which would then become the title of the fourth film. Written By: Paul W. S. Anderson Logline: Survivors of the Raccoon City catastrophe travel across the Nevada desert, hoping to make it to Alaska. Alice joins the caravan and their fight against the evil Umbrella Corp. Resident Evil (2002)
21/10/2019 Durata: 59minJust like today's script I'm back from the dead. It's been a while since I posted the last episode but I dug myself out of my rut and actually got through a few scripts recently. The rest of this month is going to be Resident Evil themed as I take a look at the scripts for the movie's that we actually got versus the George Romero script that we previously covered. FYI Today's episode comes with a fun drinking game for every time I saw "in the movie." Written By: Paul W. S. Anderson Logline: A special military unit fights a powerful, out-of-control supercomputer and hundreds of scientists who have mutated into flesh-eating creatures after a laboratory accident. Episode 55: Uncharted
15/04/2019 Durata: 50minSo I am an avid player of video games and the Uncharted series is one of my favorites. It doesn't take a genius to see how the video game series could make a great movie because it already feels so much like a modern take on Indiana Jones. It does however seem impossible to get a movie made because there have already been multiple failed attempts, and I'm going to look at one of those on this episode. Episode 52: Interview with Michael Manasseri
12/02/2019 Durata: 47minToday's episode features an interview with Actor, Producer, and Director Michael Manasseri. Michael was kind enough to call in and discuss his new movie that showed at Sundance, Give Me Liberty.
